Upward Flag Football & Cheerleading is BIG FUN!

It was true in our first season in 2010, and it's true today: Upward is committed to providing the best sports experience possible for every child in a positive and supportive environment. That means helping children learn to play football and cheer, but also developing their character and building life skills that will benefit them for a lifetime―because we believe life is more than a game.

fall and spring leagues

We offer flag football for boys and girls in Kindergarten to Grade 10, based on the grade your child is going into in the fall. Cheer is for girls K to Grade 8.


Upward's Fall League generally runs from late August to mid-November, with three divisions:

  • Division 1 - Kindergarten to Grade 2
  • Division 2 - Grades 3 to 5
  • Division 3 - Grades 6 to 8

Our Spring League typically plays late March to mid-May, with a shorter season. Our Spring (High School) League is for girls and boys currently in Grades 8, 9,  10 and 11.

life is more than a game

We love the game of football and we will help your child learn to play it well, but we believe there are things in life more important than any game. That is why we will take time at every practice and every game to talk with players about how to make good decisions on and off the field. These short talks speak to themes such as sportsmanship, courage, peer pressure, obeying parents, and more.

We work hard to make Upward Flag Football & Cheerleading a FUN experience for your child. That means every child plays and develops confidence. But we also want Upward to be a great experience for your entire family, from our family-friendly schedules to an inviting concession stand to our End of Season Celebration, Upward wants to help your family make great memories!
